Educational Partners
At Glasgow Science Centre, we’re proud to work with some great science partners. They help us deliver our amazing programme of learning experiences, all carefully aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence and National Qualification Stages.
Take a look at who these great partners are:
Glasgow City of Science and Innovation
Glasgow City of Science and Innovation is a pioneering partnership engaging over 100 multi-sector organisations (including academia, government, arts and culture, and business). The initiative acts as a science and innovation interface facilitating creative collaborations to drive innovation with impact; whilst building on, and profiling, Glasgow and the West of Scotland's offer as a world-class region of science, innovation, culture and place through a range of inspirational partnership programmes.
GlaxoSmithKline
GlaxoSmithKline supports our On Tour programme, making it possible for us to visit schools and communities right across Scotland. This support means that every year around 80,000 people around Scotland take part in local school or community based science learning activities.
Merck
Merck is a leading science and technology company in healthcare, life science and performance materials. They are working with us to inspire pupils with science and technology; offering supported visits and a chance to meet their own biomedical scientists.
National Grid
National Grid is an international electricity and gas company that plays a vital role in connecting millions of people safely, reliably and efficiently to the energy they use.
They support our Powering the Future exhibition and Let's Talk Energy masterclass in order to promote the development and implementation of sustainable, innovative and affordable energy solutions.
Scottish Water
Glasgow Science Centre and Scottish Water have worked together to create an exciting three year programme that will offer your pupils the opportunity to participate in a hands on, interactive Science Show and Workshop during their visit.
ScottishPower
ScottishPower operates in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the UK. They support our Electric Detective workshop and are working on other partnership projects with us to promote careers in STEM and raise awareness of the energy industry.
The Living Laboratory
The Living Laboratory translates cutting edge precision medicine into real world clinical settings. They are working with us to demonstrate how this transformative approach to healthcare will improve patient care and lead to a healthier population. Additionally, with our support, local community groups are directly represented and involved through an engaging programme of activity. The creation of a life sciences industry cluster at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is attracting new businesses and infrastructure that will see immediate job creation and skills development opportunities in Govan.
Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre
Visit Whitelee Windfarm, Europe's largest onshore windfarm to find out more about renewable energy.
The visitor centre is managed and operated by Glasgow Science Centre and the education programme delivers the same quality of CfE linked activities.
